Believe it or not, the market is shifting AGAIN, and there are more open houses to help promote a listing. If you're selling, here are a few good practices to follow as you prepare for an #OpenHouse. You want to leave a good impression on your visitors, after all! Here are some of those etiquettes:
DO
✅Declutter your home. Simple and minimalistic is best!
✅Clean, clean, clean! There’s almost nothing worse than walking into a dirty home.
✅Get rid of lingering smells. This one doesn’t need any more explanation.
✅Remove personal photos & belongings. You want the potential buyers to imagine themselves in the home — not picture what your life was like in the home.
✅Provide light Covid-friendly refreshments. This is just a nice, thoughtful touch!
DON’T:
🚫Hover like a helicopter pilot. Leave...Let the potential buyers explore on their own.
🚫Schedule your open house during a holiday weekend. Schedule it for a convenient weekend.
🚫Forget about curb appeal. This is going to be a potential buyer’s first impression of your home, so fix up your curb appeal to wow them right away!
🚫Leave your pets at home. Not everyone will love your fur baby as much as you do.
🚫Park cars in your driveway. Give potential buyers a clean slate and let their imagination do the rest.
I hope you never have to open your house to sell your home, but beware, times they are changing 😜
